Sohail Noorani has been associated with the media industry for nearly 9 years. Arts and Music has been his passion for quite long.
Sohail always wanted to take music beyond the level of having it merely as a hobby. He has often done live gigs, studio recordings, but exploring it more professionally remained a dream until now.
Sohail has been associated with one of the very well-known orchestras in Karachi, Pakistan: The Salimahabad Orchestra. The orchestra had the honour of performing at Mawlana Hazir Imam’s Golden Jubilee Darbaar in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Sohail conceived the concept of ‘Mein Azaad Hoon’ with the support and motivation of his elder brother Asif Noorani, who is a musician himself, working in the industry for almost 18 years. Sohail managed to launch his first song as a solo artist.
‘Mein Azad Hoon’ is a song that narrates real happenings of the society. In Sohail’s own words: “‘Mein Azaad Hoon’ is a story of a departed soul that has fallen victim to the injustice and terror killings around us – but now – it is free from the shackles of our system and society; a soul that calls itself AZAAD (unconfined).
The song is a satire to the existing unjust chaotic system to which each individual is a victim and whose attempts to break these chains receive unimaginable repercussions. This song is “the voice of our nation”, voice of a child, youth, adult, men and women alike – whose conscience is still alive.”
