Jameel Shivji, 13, an eighth grader, born in Fremont, CA, is a young celebrity. This spring, he will be starring in a new Nickelodeon show, 100 Things to Do Before High School Jameel is represented by a Beverly Hills Talent Agency, AEFH.
Jameel comes from a background of arts and singing. He sang his first ginan in Jamatkhana at the age of 4. Since then, he has continued to sing ginans and qasidas. He has also performed in many plays throughout his elementary school years and most recently, in summer of 2014, in Anne Frank in Los Angeles, where he played the role of Mr.Van Damm. During this time, he also filmed a private movie, “Another Assembly” in Los Angeles.
As Jameel was growing up, his teachers both in secular school and REC noted that he was a natural performer in presentations, plays and was able to “think on his feet” In 7th grade, at his school, Quarry Lane in Dublin, he hosted the annual Fashion Show for a fundraising event. He currently lives and attends a school in Burbank, CA, which enrolls actors and musicians.
Jameel has two older sisters, Zahra, 19, who attends Boston University and Suraya, 17, who will be attending USC’s Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation in the fall of 2015.
